What are you waiting for?
I’m guessing there are some things in your life and in your business that you have put off because you didn’t feel you were ready. Maybe it’s calling the big prospect, or adding a new team member, or just launching a new campaign for you business.
This could be due to the fear of failure, or maybe it’s due to lack of confidence. Regardless, at some point, to grow, you will have to begin to do things before you feel you are fully equipped and ready.
My mentor asked a fabulous question on a recent phone call. He said, “When is the last time you did something for the first time?”
This question stopped me in my tracks. Think about that statement for a moment and look at your own life.
There is nothing wrong with getting another certification, going to a training program, or reading a book. Not only to I endorse those things, it’s how I now earn a living.
However, sometimes you have jump before you think you are ready. Because guess what….you will NEVER fully be ready. You can either step off the end of the ledge willing to bet on you, or you can stand there paralyzed and slowly walk back asking yourself, “What if?” How long will you be standing on the ledge?
Paul Martinelli says, “You are either stepping forward into growth or retreating into safety.” I think he is 100% correct.
Let me be clear, you will never be ready, but that doesn’t mean you never start. “Nobody ever got ready by waiting. You only get ready by starting.”
